Description:
Meeting of Governor Durent with Indian sachems in Albany, New York during the summer of 1712. The native leaders brought beaver skins for the governor's new bride. The 'wampum' belt in the governor's hand appears to be a 'seed-beaded' sash or small belt and not wampum. Perhaps it is an artifact of artistic license.
